The Graduate Early Medieval Seminar (GEMS) and the Central and Late Medieval History Workshop (CALM) at the Cambridge Faculty of History invite submissions to a new blog, camedieval.wordpress.com.
Camedieval is an informal space for writing by medievalists which does not fit easily into the normal genres of academic work. The theme of the blog is "relevant medievalism": we are providing an accessible, public, and collaborative platform for medievalists of all career stages to write freely about the political and personal dimensions of doing medieval history under the emergencies of modernity.
If you would like to join us in exploring the lasting legacies of the medieval world, in combating harmful manipulations and misunderstandings of medieval history in the present, or in using our research to reimagine a fairer future for academic medieval studies and for modern society, please view our full call for submissions and learn more about the project at camedieval.wordpress.com.
