About
Emma-Louise HillĀ is a second year PhD student at the University of Kent in the Centre for the History of the Sciences. Emma studied History of Art at undergraduate level at the University of York and continued her studies at their Centre for Eighteenth Century Studies (CECS), graduating in 2013 with an MA in Eighteenth Century Studies. After a break from academia spent working in the legal sector, Emma secured a Collaborative Doctoral Partnership award working in collaboration with the University of Kent and Royal Museums Greenwich researching social and cultural engagement with the Royal Observatory, Greenwich and with the first Astronomer Royal John Flamsteed (1646-1719) from its foundation in 1675 to c.1740.
